Why did you decide to join the Maia Method Medical Advisory Board?

When I met Danielle and heard her speak about Maia, I could tell right away that it was built from real care and lived experience. After taking a class myself, I knew Maia was not just another workout. It places pelvic health, breath, core strength, and stability at the center in a way that is medically grounded and deeply respectful of a woman’s body at every stage of life.  There is no one-size-fits-all approach here. The blend of science, intention, and genuine empowerment is what drew me in. I did not join because it was interesting. I joined because it is necessary.

Why do you believe in the Maia Method?

As a clinician who focuses on women’s health in perimenopause and menopause, and as someone in perimenopause myself who once brushed off my own pelvic support needs after having kids, I know how often women are told, “that’s just how it is now.” I love how The Maia Method shifts that story. It puts pelvic health at the heart of strength and movement because it truly is part of everyday life, not something to think about only when something goes wrong. Maia helps build strength from the inside out with breath, deep core work, and functional movement, which matters even more as our hormones change. It works with your body, respects what it has been through, and focuses on feeling good for the long term instead of chasing quick fixes.

What did you enjoy most about the workout class?

What stood out most in class was how supported I felt. The techniques are simple, powerful, and you feel a real difference quickly. Every movement is intentional and designed to reconnect you with your pelvic floor and deep core without fear or pressure. Danielle’s attentiveness to each person in the room is incredible. As someone who once ignored my own pelvic support until it became an issue, I love that this method helps women rebuild that connection in a way that feels safe, effective, and truly empowering.

What is one thing you wish more people knew about wellness / their health?

If there is one thing I wish more people knew, it is that “normal” and “common” are not the same thing. Just because many women experience something does not mean they have to live with it. For example, many women notice they pee a little when they laugh or sneeze after having kids. It happens to a lot of us, but that does not mean it is just “your new normal.” It is your body saying it needs some support. Your body is talking to you.  Your body is communicating with you. Symptoms are information, not a life sentence.
